Skunk Anansie

Skunk Anansie was formed in 1994. Until their break-up in 2001 they released three albums of which "Stoosh" was the second. Skunk Anansie was regarded as being part of the britrock movement during the late 1990's. Though none of Skunk Anansie's albums or singles ever scored a number one hit in the UK, the band became very popular throughout Europe and the US, touring with well-known artists such as Aerosmith, U2, Lenny Kravitz, and Rammstein.

Stoosh
In general, the music on "Stoosh" is a mixture of heavy guitar rock and pop music, topped with intense lyrics and blended with effects and gimmicks throughout the album. By contrast, "Hedonism" represents the more traditional and less heavy and moderate sounding songs on the album, of which only a few can be found on it.

Hedonism
The song begins with guitar and vocals, quickly followed by drums and bass, almost in rock ballad fashion, but still resembling a pop band. By contrast, the chorus is played with heavily distorted guitars.

Despite that, the song still remains a more moderate rock song. The focus of the song is on the vocals, heavily supported as well as contrasted by the guitar parts. Drums and bass are very tight and well recorded. During the entire song they are never compromised by the heavy guitar sounds while leaving plenty of space for the lead vocals. The final mastering emphasizes all essential parts of the recording, without destroying dynamics and subtleties.

The return of Skunk Anansie
Skunk Anansie reformed in 2009 and released the greatest hits album "Smashes and Trashes" (2009). The band's fourth studio album, "Wonderlustre", with all new material was released September 2010.
