"Editors Choice" for the DALI IO-6 from Techhive.com

"This premium wireless headphone provides warm, sumptuous sound and excellent noise cancellation with a well-designed user interface and long battery life." That is the conclusion of Scott Wilkinson and Techhive.com after testing the DALI IO-6.

"Wonderful, warm sound awaits buyers of these noise-cancelling cans" - with that opening remark, Scott Wilkinson and Techhive.com starts their review of the DALI IO-6.

As part of TechHive’s coverage of the best headphones on the market the DALI IO-6 was next in line and after thorough testing, the IO-6 passed with flying colours.

Scott Wilkinson starts his review, looking at the DALI IO headphones features compairing the IO-6 with the IO-6. He then move on to the describing the interface and controls with praise for the audible confirmation, saying: "the IO-6 provides audible confirmation of many actions. When you turn the power on, a pleasant male voice informs you of the battery level—a novel touch that I really appreciate. Likewise, when you power down, put the headphones into pairing mode, or activate ANC or Transparency mode, the same voice confirms the action."

Sound performance and final verdict

When it comes to sound performance, Scott Wilkinson started with “You’ve Got to be Carefully Taught” from James Taylor’s album American Standard stating: "It was gorgeous! The guitars, viola, and James’ voice all sounded rich, warm, clear, and natural. It was so good, I kept listening to the next track, “God Bless the Child,” which also sounded fantastic."

As a fan of classical music, the reviewer moved on to the opening of Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, “Symphony of a Thousand,” as recorded during a live performance by the Munich Philharmonic and the result? - "As the title suggests, this piece calls for a very large orchestra and chorus. It also includes an organ part, which is featured in the opening along with some big brass, all of which sounded spectacular—smooth, rich, and very clear, with super-deep bass from the organ."

Scott Wilkinson wraps up the review with the following conclusion: "The DALI IO-6 is an exceptional wireless ANC headphone. It’s well made, comfortable to wear, and easy to operate. Most importantly, it sounds superb on a wide variety of music. Its tonal balance is on the warm, rich, sumptuous side—which I love—and activating ANC does not change the tonality much at all."
