HUSH is singer Dorthe Gerlach and guitarist Michael Hartmann. Based in Copenhagen, the duo excels in acoustic pop/Americana with a dash of Nordic melancholy. Their debut album, A Lifetime, was released back in 2004 and went straight to the top of the Danish charts. The following year, HUSH received the European Border Breakers Award in Cannes for its sales across Europe. Since then, the duo have released five more successful albums, most recently Sand in February 2018.

For the DALI session, HUSH chose to do a cover of Up To The Mountain, a Patty Griffin song based on the legendary speech held by Martin Luther King in Memphis the night before his assassination.

"The mountain top speech holds such a strong message of hope and perseverance and that same beauty is in Patty Griffin's song. It's always been a favourite of ours. It's a song packed with emotion and presence and it seemed like the perfect choice for a recording process that allows you to keep everything close, uncompressed and vibrant." says Gerlache.
