TIM CHRISTENSEN

When Tim pushes his voice to its limits, things get, well, far beyond driven.

At the age of only 14, Tim Christensen (born in 1974) formed the rock trio Dizzy Mizz Lizzy. Destined to become one of the most successful Danish bands of all time, the group also had considerable success in Germany, Benelux and even Japan.

Track: Far Beyond Driven (T. Christensen/M. Winther John)
Album: Tim Christensen and The Damn Crystals (2011)
Label: Mermaid Records Denmark/Sony Music Entertainment Denmark
Appears on: DALI CD Vol. 3

Tim has always cited the Beatles as his main inspiration. The name of his first band refers to a Larry Williams song covered by the Beatles, and Tim even recorded one of his solo albums at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Luckily, his admiration for the Beatles and other artists never obscures his own distinctive musical identity.

Far Beyond Driven
Far Beyond Driven was recorded and mixed by Frank Birch Pontoppidan at STC Studios, Copenhagen, and mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound, NYC. The bluesy intro shows Tim's very gentle, soft side, but then the bass drum kicks in, warning that another side of his musical personality is on its way.

When the heavily distorted electric guitar sets in and Tim pushes his voice to its limits, things get, well, far beyond driven. The sound becomes slightly annoying, compared to established hi-fi ideals, but seconds later a more polite Tim is back where he started on this tour de force of musical expressions.
