Caroline Henderson

Caroline Henderson kicked off her career as a rising pop princess back in 1989, but despite her success, she could never quite conform to the genre. After two successful releases, she took a few years off, re-emerging as a jazz diva in 1995 with her solo debut album, Cinemataztic. The critically well received album was co-produced with another pioneer on the Danish jazz scene (who performs elsewhere on this very album), Thomas Blachman. Cinemataztic merged pop, trip hop and jazz and became a landmark for Caroline Henderson, winning seven Danish Music Awards the following year.

The rest is history.

Even though Caroline Henderson originates from Sweden (some say), she is exclusively considered to be Danish. The fact that she is recognized as the undisputed Jazz Diva of Denmark, has won 8 Danish Music Awards in total and is a member of the royal Danish order of chivalry, the Order of Dannebrog, should speak for itself.
